Intro:

Official Allen & Heath DJ and a main player in the UK music industry for 30 years. Mark EG has transmitted his musical message many times over from the UK to Australia, transcending generations and cultures by playing countless different styles of electronic music. With a unique and anarchic approach, Mark has won many awards and accolades. His energy and passion for sound is quite simply, unparalleled.

As a respected radio DJ, Mark runs his own national FM radio show on Megapolis 89.5FM. ‘Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out’ focuses on techno, electronica and more.

Mark has released, remixed and mastered music under various guises on some of the worlds top labels. He runs his own Blackout Audio label (dark techno) and EG-303 (acid). His work with global equipment giants Allen & Heath has taken him around the world, officially testing and demonstrating their products at various events and conferences. He now also runs his own Music School, which enables him to give his knowledge back to those who want to get ahead in the music industry.

The Story:

Mark’s journey began in the 80’s. A love for Chicago house, Detroit techno and acid house progressed into a need to spread the word of Belgium techno, hard techno and also hard trance. After DJing for the UK’s biggest rave parties (Helter Skelter, Dreamscape etc) and working for a variety of prestigious techno imprints (Re:Load, GPR and Proper Records), Mark became A+R for dance music giant Bonzai Records. He also turned his hand to journalism, editing cult rave magazine Eternity, Wax Magazine and Tilllate Magazine. He now owns Core Magazine. He also ran one of the UK’s biggest online music stores, Beatbucket. Mark EG’s Music School is his most recent project.

Mark produces music under a range of pseudonyms but perhaps his most famous is with Chrissi Blackout under The Anxious. Releases have appeared on established labels such as Audio Assault, We Call It Hard, Yin Yang, ARMS, Compound, Planet Rhythm, Fine Audio and Submissions. Their Allen & Heath Live Set has taken them around the world to Germany, Brazil and beyond. His label Blackout Audio has seen releases from legendary producers such as Inigo Kennedy, Glenn Wilson, Patrick Skoog and Chris McCormack.
